Well I've been running a chip now from DPTuner and really liked the performance that it added when I got it, but in the last year now, I've went through 2 CPS sensors (the good ones from international). I have the stock, high idle, pulling, street, and highway tunes. I only have CPS "hiccups" when I run on the tunes, but I never have any issue when I run on the stock setting. Are DPTuners the best for our trucks or have they given any one else issues in the past?
Secondly, the other day I was driving on the highway, cruising 75 at 2500rpm and the overdrive light started to blink in the shifter. The truck seemed to run rough and wouldn't hardly downshift when I slowed down. I shut the truck off and everything was fine and normal. I switched it to stock and haven't had any issues in the last 500 miles. The tranny still shifts perfect and stays nice and cool. No hard shifts ever. Is this the tunner doing this possibly or what? I'm also curious why I go through so many dang CPS sensors... Ill try my luck at a Motorcraft one next? Any comment to start some dialogue so I can get some ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also, no CEL.
I would pull the chip and make sure all the connections are nice and clean. If there is any residue on the connectors it can cause some weird issues. since I don't have an auto, what is the Banks TransCommand? It sounds familiar but I can't remember the details on it. It may not be jiving with the F5 chip
I apologize, I should have said that the transcommand has been unplugged. It shifts better without it than when its plugged in. The connections are all cleaned, I double checked when I put it in and then Ive taken it out and cleaned it again and there hasn't been any change.
