Currently it makes 405lb-ft while the original 3.5L pickup EcoBoost makes 420lb-ft...so there is no precedent for your belief.
Yep, I am just being wishful but 460 tq would be awesome. My only reason is that the 2014 6.2 was rated at 411 hp / 434 tq so with bigger valves and a bit more agressive tune, I don't think 420 hp / 460 tq are crazy numbers.

I'm thinking 400/440 at closer to 4k rpms. The 4.30 gears are going to be the biggest improvement for me.

The 6.2 in the Raptor and old F150 did not have larger valves. It may have had more aggressive cams. I think 420/450 is doable but hey, we'll all know tomorrow.

More cam moves the torque curve higher in the rpm band. It's already very high, which is why I'm getting a diesel this time around. A loud 4k rpm engine every climb when towing heavy gets old.

The 6.2 has kind of a "mellow bellow" at high RPMs. Much less grating to listen to than a GM V8 or even the Ford V10. Still, I hear you about the diesel. Kind of relaxing to drive.

I thought I read they had larger valves in the 2017 and I think the difference in the raptor and f250 6.2 was the intake and pograming. That being said I have been wrong before!
