When I'm at 60 mph and go full throttle, it doesn't seem to down shift enough and the torque seems low. But when I go 1/2-3/4 throttle, I get the power I'm looking for.
Has anyone seen this before? I'll test it later today and see what gear it shifts to with both.
The EPA has emissions mandates that auto makers program in to the engine software, whenever the emissions are deemed to be excessive, they are controlled. It's one reason we have a sluggish throttle response, especially from a stop.
Turbo lag is normal, if you're not familiar, you are getting it now.
Try this. Shift to M. Accelerate normally in 1, shift to 2 at 2600rpm, roll throttle to wide open smoothly, shift to 3, 4, 5 (if you can) all at 26-2800rpm.
Or, at 60, manually drop to 4 and smoothly go to full throttle. What you feel is the best you're gonna get. Power from 2000-2800rpm is the sweet spot.
Ok. It's not turbo lag, just a steady but lower power band. It just seemed odd that it felt strong without full throttle (start with 3/4) and if I work into it it's all there.
