Last time I filled up was Friday and the gas gauge hasn't moved. When I shut the Ex off it goes back to the bottom so I know the needle isn't stuck. I'm also getting a code u1262 from the instrument cluster that wasn't there last time I checked so I'm assume it's related. Anyone have this happen before? Where to start troubleshooting?
That code is for communications between the different networks. It looks like to instrument cluster talks to a couple different networks and you have to figure out which network is not communicating. I started to look at the troubleshooting and it looks pretty involved.
Yeah, I had issues before with the communications wire being broken somewhere between the vsm and the rest of the network, that's why my door ajar and key fob weren't working. But I fixed that months ago. The instrument cluster is still communicating with the rest of the network because when I open the door the door ajar indicator comes on (IC to VSM) and I can read it through the obd port (IC to OBD port) so the problem has to lie somewhere between the IC and whatever senses the fuel level.
Can't you just take her to the dealer and have the damn city pay for it?
Last time I drove there in the Ex I thought my windshield was going to crack from the crappy roads.
A few years back I was in a brand new Bentley and blew out the front air suspension (next to the George Washington Bridge).
I'll also add, when I lived in Rye Brook and in Greenwich I never took my own vehicles into that jungle.
I now own the exact bentley I used in NYC (bought it from a friend). When I had it sent to me from NY, Bentley in Miami discovered 3 bent rims.
Thanks for letting me vent here. I'm pretty sure your problem is something came loose. Oh, and move to the suburbs already
You're welcome, Michael.
My dad once got two flat tires and a cracked rim from a massive pothole. He took picture and sent them along with all the bills (towing, tire shop) and a nice long letter to the city and he got most of it reimbursed. But that was 20 years ago and things have changed in the city. Only way your getting anything is if you actually sue. I suppose I could for the damage to my front axle that I got on the FDR drive 2 months ago.
So I had someone bring me 2 gallons of gas and when I started the Ex back up the gauge was working and showing nearly empty. So I went to the nearest station and put in about 5 gallons (the price was a buck more then everywhere else per gallon). But then the gauge showed almost 3/4 full!?!? I just filled up until it clicks at a normally priced station. 37.5 gallons went in and it's still showing 3/4 full and then it drops to empty. Gonna spend sometime underneath tonight tracing wires and see what I find.
And yeah, I can't wait to get out of this city and into the suburbs....all in due time.....
