Hi Roy , There is a member who has sold his truck, but still stops by every once in a while. Anyway I remembered a thread he had on making custom latches for the hood of his F1 which came out pretty nice. Thanks for the info Jim I'm going to try and repare the stock set up and maybe add another aftermarket latch to it see how it goes, both my primary and my parts trucks had rope to hold the hood down when I bought them so those reverse hoods may also have a place in this truck
The female receiver had tear so I cut a band around it and clean it up some. The latch has a little ware that I'll try to fill with weld

Yeah that's a big 10/4 on that one. I'm dropping my wife off at Sac. airport on the 30th ,so Ill cruise by Yuba City to see if I can find a place for us to meet up. That tail gate is baking in the sun as we speak, I'm going back and forth on weather or not to cut and buff, it can be tricky on acrylic paint even when hardened. Impatience is not a virtue, when it comes to amateurs and paint. LOL I'm looking forward to meeting you guys.
