California Western Nats
Well, my 56 is finally a road warrior. I and my grandson covered 1300 miles to Ca and back, the only time I opened the hood was at the show on Saturday. Truck ran flawlessly and got a whopping 11.7 MPG, not bad with all the carburation and gear that I have and running the A/C on top of it. Travelling out and back it was HOT but the Vintage Air Gen II never even worked hard. On Friday the host club (Pick-Ups Ltd, Orange County) took us on a guided tour with a stop at Krispy Kreme donuts, Edelbrock Industries, (an absolutely amazing place, I had no idea how big they really are) and Vic's personal car collection. After the tour we had lunch at a local park in Torrance and headed back for a well attended dinner at the restaurant next to the Ayres Suites hotel. A great place to stay. Ok for the good stuff. Like I said, the truck ran beautifully except when I filled it up with California 87 octane oxygenated gas-ahol. I don't think that stuff would burn if you threw a match into a bucket of it. Please, no one try that. Switching to the $3.50 per gallon "93" octane got me back home to AZ just fine. Last and certainly not least thanks and a big congratulations to Ed Oe and Pick-Ups Limited for a great time and a great show.

Matt, there are a ton of pictures in my gallery. I haven't posted in a while but they are still relevant.
Charlie, that was indeed my truck with the BADAZ56 plate. It's not a legal tag, the MVA says it is obscene and suggestive. A friend of a friend knows the guy who runs the stamping shop at the prison and had that made for me. I airbrushed it and added the detail to make it look a real tag and we put it on at shows. On Saturday we forgot to take it off and drove around with it for a while. Sorry we didn't get to hook up

Hey, Pete. The Nats West was indeed a great event, The only pics I have seen of my truck are the ones taken on the road while traveling out there. There are some pics on line I have yet to see a complete set. As for me there are 6 pretty current photos in my gallery entitled "Finished at last, maybe"
