Flywheel bolts

Is there anything special I need to know about the flywheel bolts? The cupped head made me wonder. Are they one time use? From what I can tell they need 75-85 lb-ft of torque.

They are high quality bolts, can be re-used if in good condition. I'd say I've found the cupheads on about half the V8's I've worked on, others are heavier heads with deep cuts across the head. Be sure to clean the threads in the crank (don't re-tap) in case there is old Loctite in them. If in doubt, new bolts are available pretty cheap. I'd use ARP if needed.

Great reminder. I've cleaned out threads using the cheap Chinese wire brush "bits", for lack of a better term, that can be chucked in the drill. Don't want to be cutting metal out of the original threads. Stu
