The possible solution:
1996 f350 chassis cab sc 4x4 137" wb (i think)
Will the frame off of the obs go underneath the bricknose? What are the differences in the frame if any? I know the front bumper mounts are different, but are there any other things that I will need to address?
I could fix it, but I'm nervous because of what I'm going to be using the truck for... Don't need some nosy dot officer giving me crap about a frame repair.

Do a proper drill + weld + fish plate with non-booger welds and the DOT will probably be happy to see it after all the poorly welded trailer tie down rings they see. If they even look under the truck at all it's probably a "we're going to write you a ticket for something" stop and you're screwed to begin with.

Sorry guys, haven't been on here in quite a while, I was using "sc" referring to single cab.
I now have the frame and have been trying to get it prepped to swap over everything from the old one. If anyone is looking to this thread for advice, yes the frames are the same other than the front horns for the bumper mount. They also have a slightly different front shackle mount, but (so far) everything is working out.
i wouldnt go with 92-97 frame the crumple zone on the front end opened the doors to the new age of disposable trucks and plastic panels and bumpers one good smack and its a write off

i like the real steal re buildable trucks pre 92
Only the F150's have the crumple zone. Well, the light duty F250's got it too, but that's just an F150 frame anyway. My 96' has held up well. Pushed several dead trees over..No plastic bumpers or bent frame horns. I just avoid front end collisions with other vehicles? Lol
