Hiding antenna

I'm thinking of taking off my antenna from the cowl and hiding it somewhere, such as underneath the dash pad, inside the a-pillar, inside the cowl, or running along the fender under the hood. Anybody got any experience with these options and still getting good reception?

Thanks,
Brandon

Any of those locations are going to kill the reception, there will be no use even having it anymore. Big ugly antennas mounted up high away from metal objects work the best. Full wave for the middle of the FM band is 31 inches long.

Remember when they came out with the antennas made into the windshields? They didn't work that great either.

Do some homework on antenna theory and ground planes and whatnot and you'll find that length & orientation are critical in making them useful.
