We have had a couple of Wranglers and they are a lot of fun, but hard ride on long trips. Our 4 door Sport had a solid front end and you felt everything. The Sahara has a softened front end much better but still uncomfortable on trips. When ever we go someplace we normally take the F250. It's really comfortable on long trips. Note even when pulling a 5th wheel.
I guess we are in for more heat through Thursday.
Very cool vehicles. Very purpose built, though not as robust as they once were. Any real wheeling and lots of things start to need attention. Not much of that around here though. Keeps me from owning one really. Otherwise I may have built one up by now.
My first 4 door everyone told me I was a fool to buy one, but turned out to be great in the Maine woods, back count dirt roads of Vermont, and outstanding in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We actually chased moose in Maine and had moose chase us. We only did minor things to that Wrangler and mostly comedic. 4 Tube doors, windshield lights, light guards (metal) Good set of oversized Toyo A/T tires. Cargo net for tents and gear. But it had one ridged front end.
I love excuses, the sun was in my eyes and it was hot out there. LOL
I know just a lot of hard work. I hire my grandson to load and unload. He 16 and fit.
I have 3 friends that went up to Maine yesterday for the upcoming Lobster Fest. They took their 5th wheels and got on the road around 8:30 Monday, They should have had a good trip up. Only thing was the F350 has a 26 gallon diesel tank and will have to stop on the way up for diesel. While the Chevy and Dodge have 39 gallon tanks and will make it up with no problem. Why they put a small tank in there I don't know. ??????
