What is best gasket sealer to use.

I am putting a new rear main seal in the 38 Studebaker and was curious as to what if any sealer to use. Permatex red, blue, black or ???? What say you?

Permatex: The Right Stuff. Expensive but good for those jobs you don't want to do twice.

Permatex Ultra Black. Good for everything but exhaust manifolds.
