Stumbled on to a deal at Auto Anything and got the kit 970sp for $346.00 shipped. Belltech had a $150.00 mail in rebate. Cost me $200.00 for the shop to install plus the alingment check will be $45.00.
Yes, I want the bars off, wife is still on the fence for them. The truck was lowered primarily for her ease of access as stepping up is hard for her. Giving it a day or so and I will pull them to try it out for her.
Well to spend some more money for you (and satisfy the wifey's step requirement) you could get AMP Research steps. They would not be visible and would extend when you open the door.
Thanks.....lost the boards last night. The idea of no boards is so the wife can get her leg close enough to the truck body to sit into the seat, not needing to rise up to it. The stepping up is what is hard for her to do with the arthritus, fibermyalgia, and steel in her knees and back. The seating to ground height is now the same in this truck as our 2000 Lightning. Wife is very pleased and we all know what that means.....
I too lowered mine, but only the Rear by 2" w/Shackles by Ford Racing.
I didn't think about dropping the front, was only dropping the Rear for visual happiness (rear is now exactly 1/2 inch higher than front) but after seeing yours, kinda wish I did a 2/4 drop instead
That red truck looks good, really lIke the striping.
I debated a lot on which drop to do and settled on 2" all around. I feel that leaves me with some room for towing my tractor or a car on the car hauler without going nose high. My wife even said today she was suprised the 2" drop was so noticeable so I guess it is good.
Despite lowering a truck being against my religion you guys trucks do look nice lowered. There I said it.
Thanks......driving anything but a V8 is against my religion.....but dang these 3.5 EB's are fun.
If Ford would make a lower slung 2wd truck for public consumption, I think there would be good sales. I am past the time where lifted trucks are fun (they do look good). Great to drive but when it is to much pain to get in and out of, the fun ends. And yes, I am from the days when 2wd vs 4wd could be identified by bumper height.....now they are all the same siting on the lot. Oh well.....getting old sucks.
