Crown Vic questions
Crown Vic questions
I need to do a front end on my truck as the steering box is DANGEROUSLY sloppy. So I was thinking about the Crown Vic conversion. I also like that the CV will eliminate the front leaf springs and give it a better ride.
I have heard two different stories. One says that the conversion is a bolt on affair and the other is that you have to cut and modify the frame. Which is correct? Does the year of the CV determine which method you have to do?
Thank you

It does bolt in but the spot on the frame where the crossmember sits is not all flat so you need to cut the frame and put a 1/4" thick piece to make it flat and then box it in.
I have seen some guys cut that piece and then install a piece of metal 2X4 Channel the put a piecce of 1-1/2" tubing on top.
Or move it forward to get away from the curve.
