Need to get oil out of coolant/degas bottle. I've drained the engine and want to flush with Cascade. How much do I pour in? I assume I'm supposed to use liquid Cascade.
Zmann has a good write up somewhere. I think I used half of a 75 oz bottle with each flush. Mix with water before pouring it in your cooling system.
Cascade has several versions that have Dawn in them. Make sure you use something intended for dishwasher use or you'll likely end up with suds everywhere.
As I recall there were some versions of Cascade that also contained Chlorine, I would read the labels and avoid anything that might not be aluminum-friendly.
Thanks guys. I ended up just taking the degas bottle off and cleaning it out with gas and then rinsing with Cascade/Dawn. Also drained the radiator and ran hose water through the system. Just trying to clean it enough that I can run it again to confirm the oil problem - since I recently bought this at auction, I don't know what could have happened to it. Was surprised at how little oil was in the coolant overall after seeing what appeared to be a lot in the bottle. I guess it kinda collects there. And, that van bottle is so much taller and harder to see into than my trucks' bottles - I couldn't tell if oil was just floating on the top or if the entire bottle was filled up with thick oil.
