79 f350 ex cab 6.7 upgrade

hi all,
i have a 79 f350 ex cab lariat , 460 with most options apart from 4x4 from what i can figure. i'm toying with fitting a 6.7 power stroke and trans and after looking through older posts showing 7.3 or cummins, haven't found my particular preference.
currently i have a new 3.2 diesel, but to say i hate the performance of this wet rag would be an understatement , so i'm looking at the old 350 with new enthusiasm , the plan is to make it RHD, add the diesel/trans, fit vintage air and new wiring, give it a coat of jam, then use it.
Has any one done this yet?, i build/restore mid fifties ford trucks for a living so the work doesn't faze me, but here in Australia a newish f250/350 cost ap $150k+, so i don't think i could source the driveline here and i don't have the option of importing a written off late model truck because of our import laws, so i need to buy the components in the USA.

I think you would be the first to do this if you do. It would be really cool if you did but really complicated and insanely expensive if you did not at least have a donor truck to rob all the parts from.

I looked into doing a 6.0 swap into my supercab before and I imagine it would be similar to the 6.7. Nobody makes a nice stand alone wiring harness for these engines, so you have to use the factory harness and gauge cluster since it has to communicate. Then you will have to deal with all our modern emissions garbage on your truck.
In my opinion the best way to do it would be to just do a 1979 body swap onto a super duty and then run the super duty interior, wiring harnesses/modules and drivetrain. Then you`d basically have a new truck in an old shell.

Or else you could just do a 12v Cummins swap, couple wires to the starter, 3 wires to the shutdown solenoid, easy power, no emissions garbage....

i am toying with the cummins option as a back up, but would still like to go down the ford path if i could, i'll be back in the USA next month and was going to look for a total loss f250/350 or a dodge if need be.
looking at the areas that sell super duty trucks i may need to look in Texas, generally i only go to CA looking for mid 50 trucks to ship home, but can't think of a yard that sells them, but hopefully, i may have luck on my side. We are booked to go to SEMA later in the year and recall seeing a few companies there that offered a stand alone (3 wire) diesel engine that would full fill my desire to tow on the highway safely.
