Hey Jordan,
By front of the box I'm assuming you mean near the cab? Just want to clarify on that. I will measure that dimension and get back to you. I'll give length and width just in case you need both.
Yeah there's not too many of the newer 8 footers on this site. I might be about the only one. There's one or two left on the 04-08 forum, but most are bought and used up as work trucks.
I am looking to find a measurement from the front of the box to the start of the wheel well. There are no eight foot box F150's around to look at.
Jordan I measured the inside of my truck bed for you. The bed floor, from the front wall to the start of the wheel wells measures at just about 43" in length. That same area is about 64" wide from side-wall to side-wall. Hope this is what you're looking for. If you need anything else, let me know.
Ya, that helps. I'm looking to see how big of a custom made fuel tank I could stick in it, hoping to keep it rectangular and at least 200 gallons (for farm use). With out showing above the rails. My idea includes a cross over toolbox, with no bottom, to hide the fuel fills, and have a place for the hose. Haven't quite figured out how to hide the pump yet, but may put it above a wheel well.
