I just hooked up some hadley air horns to my truck last night. I tested the air compressor, solenoid, and switches and the system worked fine. I ran the compressor and solenoid power to the battery, disconnecting the battery cable to place the wire terminal under the existing battery cable. Because I didn't have time to install the swithches last night, I disconnected all electrical connection to continue today. This morning, I tried to start my truck and it would not start. The dash light is on for batteries. Because I disconnected the battery terminals, is that the problem? I checked them and they are on tight. I still do not have any power attached to the compressor or solenoid. Please advise.
It turns over, but won't start. I thought the battery might be drained, so I placed a battery charger on it for 6 hours and it still won't start. All electrical components work and I did not loose my presets on my radio. Head lights look bright when I turn them on. I have checked the battery connection and it is tight.
I just got back in town from a business trip starting on Monday. I had the truck towed to the dealer and he repaired it. He said it was a crank sensor and a fuse box in the engine area. He said Ford has a replacement fuse box out and I will have to bring the truck in later to get the new fuse box installed. Thanks for your input.
