My 2005 F250 has two small areas where rust has eaten through the bed (seen below). A 2' panel would be perfect to weld in, but I can't find any online for the Super Duty (only 40s-70s trucks). I have POR15 prep & paint, and new cross-members for underneath, but just need a panel to replace the floor section. Thinking of cutting from bolt to bolt out, between the ridges on either side. Then welding a flat piece in there and drilling two new holes.
Any ideas on what to do? Or where I can buy a panel that matches the existing floor? What gauge of steel is the bed?
maybe see what a junkyard has for a bed? even its a half ton or whatever, and regardless of the rest of it, might be able to trim out a patch the size you need. if its a junk bed besides what you need it, might not command a high price there

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried calling a few local places and they told me nobody buys the flooring panels...only new beds. Forget about that
That link is just what I was looking for. Thanks! I'm also going to ask a local metal shop the price for a 2' x 5" section of 20 gauge steel and compare the price difference.
UPDATE: Was quoted $31.22 for a 25" x 6" piece of 20 gauge steel sheet metal.
