LN750 VIN Decode
First I wanted to start with the VIN and what it really is
The VIN tag on the edge of the driver door reads
N75PVM73158
148 M N752 4A8 2 GHL
23000 299 3800 77
what throws me off is the N instead of the F at the sart of the VIN
I have looked several times and it is a stamped N
then the engine code does not match with any engine codes but it is a gas V8
tilt front end
I started a new thread for you to avoid confusion. The thread you posted to was older, and was regarding an F750.
It appears you have an N750*, or some variant of that line of trucks--not an F series.
I don't have the decoder ring for the VIN, but it appears you have a 148" wheelbase and a GVWR of 23000.
Sometimes a VIN decode will take a day or two or more. Remember, it's free and done by volunteers.

*See post 3, it's an LN.

The Warranty Plate on the edge of the driver door reads:
N75PVM73158 / W.B: 148 / COLOR: M / MODEL: N752 / BODY: 4A8 / TRANS: 2 / AXLE: GHL / MAX GVW LBS: 23000 / CERT NET HP: 299 / RPM: 3800 / DSO: 77
What throws me off is the N instead of the F at the start of the VIN
It's not an F Series truck.
Then the engine code doesn't match with any engine codes but it's a gas V8.

With the P engine code, it wasn't a gas V8 originally. How many valve cover bolts per side does it have?
N75 = LN750.
P = Cummins 855 cid I-6 Diesel.
V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.
M73158 = 1972.
148" Wheelbase.
M = Wimbledon White.
N752 = LN750 .. 23,000 lbs. GVWR
4A8: 4A = Black Vinyl (Heavy Duty) / 8 = 81A Standard Cab.
2 = Clark model 282V 5 Speed Direct.
GHL:
GH = Eaton model 17221 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.50/8.87 / 18,500 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.
L = Ford 6,000 lbs. Capacity Front Axle with Power Steering.
23,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
299 net HP @ 3,800 RPM
77 =
DSO is the code for the Ford District Sales Office the truck was ordered from, but there's no 77 listed.Here's a pic of the LN series, compare it with the F series truck (1964 pictured, 1961/66 is essentially the same).
"... then the engine code does not match with any engine codes but it is a gas V8....."
Might be the dreaded door change, bringing over the wrong warranty plate. Or something else.
Does the VIN on the title match the one on the plate? Does this truck have a 148" wheelbase? Two speed rear axle? White paint? Power steering?
If it's all a mismatch to the warranty plate, then it could be a door change or something else.*
*wait, I said that....

So noted, I removed it, then edited it back in.

People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.

It has to be some sort of an L series truck, because no other door will fit. We'll have to wait and see what the OP says about the VIN
The good news is (if it's a 1970/79): Using the VIN that's on the title/registration and passing along some bucks, the OP can get a copy of the trucks original build sheet from martiauto.com
btw: OP is a CA resident...it was cooler today...at least here in the San Gabriel Valley.
'Course, I'm not actually in the Valley, I'm at the top of the Puente Hills overlooking the Valley.
