The sub in the back of my 98 explorer is blown. How do I get it out? I have gotten all the screws out and can't seem to understand what is still holding the thing in place. PLEASE HELP!!! I am at my wits end.
LOL you need to remove the enclosure and there is 1 yes just 1 screw holding it in. It is screwed into the maganet. I ran into the same thing and I almost ripped the sub out but then i notice the enclosure moving everytime I pulled and there it was....... a screw in the back. All them screws holding the sub in you would think it can handle some power huh................
Its not that bad actually. Just follow the edges and pull the pushpins out, and I think a bolt on the seatbelt clamp. Then everything is right there...
I don't have my specs sheet with me, so I don't remember the airspace for the factory boxes. But you can get something else and put in there, you just want to get a sub that gets as close to matching the airspace as possible.
Seems like the JL10W2 - I think that is the right number - is one that matches up pretty close... I'm too tired right now to remember part numbers...
