Damn hope I didn't mess up,I disconnected the the two little wire going to the GPR so the glow plugs would not come on. I took off the breather and sprayed starting fluid in the inlet side of the turbo and tried to crank it, I did not fire or run cause my batteries were weak and starter did not spin long.I let the batteries charge about 10 mins and decided to crank again.this time I plugged the two wires back into the GPR I did not spray anymore starting fluid however when I turn the key to WTS I heard a real faint poof noise come out the exhaust. I didn't think much of it.when I turned the key to start there was a bang and a fireball flew out the breather side of the turbo. I jumped about 20' in the air lol. Everything seems alright it still spins over fine . I know not to use starting fluid but I did .trying to get in a hurry to get it running
It sounds to me like you've got air in the fuel system. You'll need to keep cranking until fuel comes out of the schrader valve and you get good pressure there. Crank 10 seconds, let the starter rest for 30 seconds. Keep your batteries charged up. If your cranking rpms drop below 100 or your system voltage while cranking drops below 10.5 V, then the pcm won't even try to fire the injectors.
I've been turning it over at the firewall solenoid with a screwdriver cranks just fine. I was hoping to get it to run but I didn't.now I have to head out of town for work so I guess when I come back in I will try again.
I am back working on this truck again.I have tried everything so I started back at the beginning.I have drained the fuel bowl so I could see what the fuel is doing as it comes in the bowl.As I crank the truck I can see fuel coming into the bowl.it is not much fuel and the rate of flow I think is to slow.i will be cranking for a long time. How long should it take to fill the bowl? Could I have swapped the fuel lines when I put the motor in the truck?
