Voltage Regulator

Revealing the depth of my ignorance: I've got a 53 F100 6v positive ground. My voltage regulator does not have any markings on it that I can find indicating battery, armature and field connections. I'm pretty sure that if one was looking down on it with the three terminals on the left, "battery" would be at the bottom, "field " in the middle, and "armature" at the top. Does that sound right?

You might look on the bottom, or under the cap. But from the manual for 48-51's you are correct.

I just happened to have a rebuilt 6v voltage regulator handy.
I took a picture of the front with the sticker.

Here is my generator wiring diagram I built. I laid it out as the terminals are on the regulator. Fortunately my diagram and the picture match.

Thanks all. I was pretty sure I knew what the setup was, but I wanted to ask the question just to feel 100% confident. Very big step for me today: I completed all the wiring under the hood that is necessary to run the engine. I've got a few hours under the dashboard and that takes care of the engine circuits. I've got to get a battery, and an oil filter. And install the radiator. I'm hoping that next Sunday the engine will run for the first time in almost twenty years. It's not as big a deal as it sounds: twenty years ago it was running great. I gave it new gaskets and passed a hone up and down the cylinders. There is no reason to expect it not to start right up, providing I've got the timing and carburetor all adjusted properly. Part of me worries that the cork gasket at the float bowl has dried out and will start leaking. Anyway, I'm still shooting for actually driving it some time next month.

That is awesome JVMCC! Good luck. It seems you are really putting it in high gear to finish this after all these years.
