I have a 90 F150 4x4 302 and the M5OD 5sp. The motor puts out about 350/375#, and the truck is lifted with 35's. I need a new clutch. After a bit of searching, I came across the FRPP King cobra clutch. I know it has the same pattern, but it is a 10.5 inch diameter. Does anyone have any positive comments on an installation like this one? If not, any reccomendations???
I'd try looking into the centerforce Clutches for offroad trucks with oversized Tires. I've heard alot of good things about them, I have yet to try one myself yet. But plan to whenever the clutch goes out in my 4x4. http://www.centerforce.com/generalinfo.tpl
Luk makes a heavy duty 11" clutch called their Pro Gold series clutch which is designed for towing or 4wheeling. Higher clamp loads and high temp linings on the disc. I have several large fleets in the SE using them. Go to www.carolinaclutch.com
the part # you are looking for is 07-908 and cost is around 200 for a complete kit including brgs.
I had a King Cobra clutch in my supercharged 450 horse 98' Cobra and loved it. It was rock solid on a 3700 lb. street car with 27 inch tall 10 inch wide tires.
I can't vouch for it's performance with a 35x12.50 but I'd give it a try if I was down on $$$ and needed a decent clutch. I'd go with the Centerforce Dual Friction if your budget allows. The Centerforce II or the KC would be my second choices.
