Long story short, newly installed Dorman lines, pass side blew out on head after 20 mile run, other three leaking a little, bought Motorcraft lines, nice and flexible, tried to release other lines with the quick disconnect tool and they won't budge.Any tips or tricks I can try before towing it to shop?I've watched the videos and read the install instructions nothing working.
Thanks for any advice
I'm not sure. When I tried to snap the hose back in the fitting it wouldn't connect. I'm definitely not a mechanic lol, just trying to get the truck back on the road.thanks
The fittings on the heads and in the pump can be rebuilt or replaced as well. There's orings in them, also dirt gats packed in them making it difficult to separate and re-connect. When I did mine I went ahead and got all new fittings so I would be sure not to have a blowout. The new OEM lines have a red circle on them that disappears into the fitting when you have it successfully locked in all the way. When changing the fittings on the pump you must completely drain the pump and clean/dry the threads then use special lock-tite on them and let it dry over night.
Finally something i can contribute to. I had this very same issue last week. I used brake cleaner and compressed air to clean the fittings. Once clean they came apart nice and easy.
