How to remove HPOP Lines?
asking such a basic question but I've spent the past hour + with my chubby little hands squeezed inbetween high pressure oil lines with a crows foot trying to get to the oil hose nuts at the base of the HPOP with no luck. I want to change the o-rings so I stop bleading OPEC blood.
Service manual I have says..."Using special tool, remove the two high pressure oil lines." I paid for this kind of help? At least it could say something a little more useful like..."Loose 50 lbs so your meaty hands can squeeze in."I tried several searches with no luck...I don't seem to do very well with my serches on this site but I'm still a novice.
Hay...and if you stop by my house and show me, I've got a 12-pack of (enter favorite brand name here) with your name on it!
As always, thanks!
Dan
I also once removed the quick-connects with my own special tool--two screwdrivers and some concentration. I probably put them at risk, but I didn't have the quick-connect removal tool
To release line from fitting:
While firmly pushing the line straight into the fitting with one hand, insert the tool behind the black release sleeve and gently pull on the line.
The tool part number is 303-625.
The "Tool" is nothing more than a piece of flat stock with a notch cut into it to fit into that slot behind the sleeve.
