Most of our trucks we have used a Rack-It rack. These are nice tubular steel, with an extension over the cab, and a removable back support. However, they do get in the way of some operations, and they are not easy to put on or take off. Great racks none-the-less.
I want to have a rack that I can take off without a major hassle, but I don't want to reduce the utility too much. So far, the best option I've found is the TracRac G2 (TracRac® Accessory Page | TracRac).
It will hold up to 1250 lbs, and can be re-configured via sliding the front or rear supports forward/backward. You can also fairly quickly and easily remove the supports, leaving only the slides on the bedrails.
What I'm wondering is if there is anything else out there that provide these advantages, while increasing the payload, or having other advantages?
