I'm having an issue with the passenger side power window. It's up and down operation is normal from the driver side switch. From the passenger side switch it will only go down but not up. I have tried another switch, so that is not the culprit.
I replaced the weather stripping the window rides inside in my truck: That seems to have helped that problem: I think the aged weather strip adds resistance to the window movement. I have no idea why it acts that way- I had the same problem with mine- I couldn't get it to budge from either switch for months, until I pulled the motor, dropped the glass, and changed all the weather strips.
second switch is probably bad also. all the switch does is reverse polarity of the power to the motor. so if the window works properly with the driver side switch, and goes down but not up from the passenger side switch, the problem HAS TO BE in the passenger side switch.
how to test: put a volt meter on the motor and hit the switch down. pay attention to voltage and polarity on the meter. now hit up. meter should read reverse of the down position.
can confirm this with the driver side switch. one way will show 12 volts, the other way will show - 12 volts.
