There are two tags on these rear ends. One is the one you gave us (kind of) and there is also a fluid tag that should tell you the diff needs 75w140 synthetic fluid.
On the other tag, there should be a code that gives you the axle ratio as well as if it is a limited slip. For example, if it were a 3.73 ratio with a limited slip, the tag would read 3 L 73. Look at the tag you have again to confirm.
If it has a limited slip, you will also have to add friction modifier. Even if the fluid you use says it has it in it, I would add a little more as the fluids tend to be light on the modifier.
As for a cover, look for an aluminum finned cover off a 2008. You will need longer bolts to make it work but the cover can be had off ebay for around $50.
I did see that other tag and it says W 140 synthetic only.
So 75-140.
I also found that my door tag has axle code 31, I'm pretty sure is a Dana rear end.
So for a cover is their more than one Dana model for a cover?
Edit: It's a Dana 10.5 after seeing 10 5 on my diff tag.

Off to eBay to purchase a cover!
Your rear diff is a Sterling brand. Your front diff would be a Dana 60.
Usually SRW F-350's are the ones with Sterling 10.5 rears and the f-250's get a Sterling 10.25 rear.
Run 75-140 royal purple has friction modifier in it so no need to add it. Their diff oils are great in both of my trucks front and rear axles.
I would but in my "smaller" town O'Reillys auto parts wants 20$ per bottle! That's a lot!
Gonna go check my local Napa tomorrow for a cheaper synthetic alternative. I don't even think mobile 1 would be that much. Granted O'Reillys isn't the best place to buy fluids.

I'm not saying your wrong at all, how did you come to that conclusion? Are you saying the door sticker axle code 31 is always for the front axle? Thanks
