Rear Diff. ?
I'm looking for information on the rear diff. with LSD. How can you determine what type of diff. you have?
Are there any illustrations on the net of the LSD?

.Check your door jamb codes or crawl under the vehicle and check the tag on the diff cover.
Door jamb axle codes for vehicles with LS will always have letter before a single number (ex B6). Non-LS rears will be a two digit number(ex 19). We have a site decoder in the tech articles section for the '97 and newer trucks to tell you what the code means gear and LS wise.
If you check the second row on the diff tag near or under the bolt holding it to the cover (and the cover to the diff) it will give you a code like "3 55 9 7 or 3.55 open with 9.75" ring gear diff. If a letter"L" is located between the digits that make up the ratio number, well, you have an LS unit from the factory.
Pictures...hmmm, might try some of the aftermarket differential sellers. Maybe this online version of a repair manual will have a picture (but you may need to enter a 1999, vice 2000, to get it to work).
