3rd Ford Truck
Just bought a 2002 F250 XLT supercab shortbed 2wd with the V10.
It's funny, for a "not a truck" guy I just bought my 3rd Ford truck...
I've had two Rangers before, both times when I was working on my house back in NY.
I now live in CA and just bought another house I am renovating, and a neighbor happened to just park a truck. Little old lady told me it was her friend's from church, that they had a horse farm and used it for occasional trailering, but it had been mostly sitting for 4 years since the husband had passed away. It was covered in dirt and manure, but it drove fine, so I bought it.
Perhaps a little too quickly - after washing it, I discovered a lot more paint flaws (crows feet in the hood and roof, scrapes and dents on the side, etc) but I think it's a solid truck and way overkill for what I need, but my theory is that the miles are so low that I won't lose much if anything on resale.
If anyone has a recommended maintenance schedule or knows where I can find one, please share. I will of course do a search shortly and see if there are any FAQs or stickied posts for this model and engine.
