True, but it just looks like an after thought. I saw it on another color truck (Ruby Red I think) and it looked hideous!
Tacky, as in "tacked on". Lund and AmpResearch both make sturdy foldable steps which make better sense. I intend to install them on the rear of the 2017. My father in law got a set of running boards which went wheel well to wheel well. They really overpowered the appearance of the truck.
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new truck. Black on black looks pretty sharp.
PS: SC is generally "super cab" although it could be thought to be "super crew" The pictures tell it all.
Fixed it. Thanks for pointing that out.

And the reason I chose those running boards is the only way on the build and price to get the 6" angled boards without the extension is to buy the chrome package, and there's already too much chrome on the truck already without adding more.
Why oh why won't Ford offer a FX4/Sport Appearance (Monotone or grey accents) package like the F150 has on the Super Duty? They used to in '08-'09 then dropped it in '10 and haven't done anything since. Just miles of chrome for days.

I could see those extensions being really useful, and I would like to have them on my truck to make it easier to unlock my fifth wheel hitch. However, with that tacky look, I may have to look for another solution (or continue to climb on the tire).

Agreed about the chrome. 2017 is a welcome relief from the chromium compilation on the front of the past few years super duties. I ordered without running boards and will go aftermarket or Ford parts direct to get what I want. I did not like any which were available through assigned packages from the factory.
Monotone is a little too far the other way for my taste. Some frontal chrome is good for the cleaning of bugs (pointed out by another member.) and it helps define the presence of the design of the vehicle.
I hope they don't kill the extended cab, my preferred layout by far. On the road I actually see more pickups with extended cabs than regular cabs, regular cabs are normally cab-and-chassis (or overloaded F-150s).
(RIP Green Gem, you will be missed.)
did you say overloaded f150? This was leaving our storage yard the other day.
