Electrical issues

Good afternoon to all
I have an 2001 F-150 Super Crew and have had some electrical issues. For the last few years I have had to drive with the tilt wheel in the full up position because when I lowered the tilt the rear break and signal lights wouldn't work. I removes the upper and lower plastic steering wheel covers and found the wiring harness was loose from its connector due to broken attach clip. I used a small zip tie to hold the harness in place and that seemed to fix the issue with the rear lights. Last year it got to the point that it didn't matter whether the harness was plugged in with the zip tie holding it or not, no signal or brake lights. The harness or plug with all the wires was still in place but the tilt had no effect, up or down no rear lights.
I suspected that perhaps I had a pinched wire further down into the steering coulomb but not sure. Has anyone had this issue and if so, what was the repair procedure?
I cant drive the old girl without being a hazard to other drivers and I very much need my truck in good running order. Can anyone help?
Pastor Ron

With the tilt wheel feature this could be related to a crumbling connector for the mulit-function switch. Typically wiring harnesses inside the column shrouds isn't affected by too much unless someone has been fiddling around inside there before your ownership Pastor Ron.

Remove the upper and lower shroud, check around the multi-function switch for signs that connector is still intact. A replacement harness---if needed---should be available from the dealership or any other reputable parts sellers.

Hi all, I just started having some what of a similar issue as Pastor Ron. I have a 2001 Ford Expedition xlt, and yesterday evening was going to the store, got in the truck started it up, turned on the headlights switch but the headlights and front park lights didn't come on but had rear lights on just fine, break lights work, rear signal lights work but no lights in the front of the truck also switched the headlight switch off and on a couple of times the indicator lights in the dash panel shows the bright lights are on and both set of blinkers on solid no flashing, but if i turn the head light switch off the dash indicator goes off as well and if i flip the turn signal lever i get all rear signal lights and break lights but nothing happening in the front of the vehicle. I checked all fuses and and bulbs and they were good, i pulled the multifunction signal lever and cleaned the connectors and reconnected it still same issue. Also if i turn on the hazard lights they will flash in the rear but still no action in the front of the truck. Any help or suggestions would help greatly. Thanks
