Gear Indicator Off By "One Tooth"!!
2 items that really bother me is that the gear indicator is off one, so that it does not go into '1'.
In other words, 'R' is Park, 'N' is Reverse, 'D' is Neutral, '2' is Drive, and '1' is 2!
The seller asked, "How many times do you use '1'??
Although he is probably right, I'd still like to have it 'working' properly.
Since he mentioned that the engine was replaced about 100K miles ago I figure that the linkage was not set-up correctly.
Am I on the right track here??
Also, and maybe more troubling is the fact that he never mentioned that the overdrive button was superglued on and that the wires are cut!!
I am figuring that either the O/D is now ALWAYS on or off.
I have to find out if the light is on or off with the O/D engaged.
Even so, I got a pretty good deal as long as I don't find out there are hidden major issues.
I pulled down the wheel to where it should be and the indicator marks 'P', just like it should!!
Now to buy that plastic bracket.......
And on to another issue with the truck!!
