Transmission woes-4R100

Hello all, its been a while but i need some help with an issue. MyTransmission really hasn't given me any issues even though it has been through the ringer more than it's fair share the last few years. But it has developed an intermittent problem of not going into gear, either drive or reverse, from park. The shifter seems to catch slightly but still goes into position for whatever gear I need. But the transmission does nothing. If it fails to go into gear, I can hold the brake and go into the other gear (such as reverse if I initially put it in drive or visaversa) and it shifts and off we go. Seems to be only on hills and with the transmission warmed up. I know little to nothing about slushboxes so I really could use some input.

Maybe not your issue, but is there play in your gear selector lever on the column?

A known issue is the bolt coming loose and allowing too much slop to properly select gear position.

Would be nice if it was that simple

Anyway that your TRS lever clip became loose and not really engaging the gear? Or is the actual transmission is slipping?

There is some play in the shifter but not what I would consider excessive. Fluid has about 28k on it, it's getting a little dirty but doesnt smell burnt and no other real issues besides this one but it I do plan on changing the fluid and filter soon. I'm not too sure what the clip is that youre talking about.....but tomorrow I will do some research and try to put hands on it. I do recall it being stiff when trying to shift from park to reverse a couple of times last week, is that clip on the linkage in the side of the trans?
