Finally found my wheels!
Hi,
Been looking for the 10 hole forged Alcoa alloy wheels for awhile!
Seems a lot of people are pretty proud of them when they want to sale.
Kept looking at my local CL and found these.
Guy said he wanted $300, I asked for a better price and he said if I came right now (Thurs. night) he would let them go for $200!
I borrowed the cash from a buddy, and was on my way.
They look pretty good except need a complete clean and clear coat.
Any tips on getting these back in shape????

I've never done it personally, but I've seen a lot of people use a powerball and some aluminum polish with good results.

You can leave them unprotected but you will have to polish them more often to keep the, looking nice. All of the spray options I have heard of leave less than desirable results. There is a product called shine seal that works well and is easy to apply. I will probably use it if I want to protect them.

What you clean them with depends on if they are clear coated or bare aluminum. Most factory wheels have clearcoat on them which makes them easier to clean until the clear peels off and discolors. At that point the best way to clean them is to use paint stripper and remove the clear and then polish them with good aluminum polish (I like white diamond). If the clear is intact soap and water will clean them up. Harsh wheel cleaners will eat into the clear.
