Ok, went out to test and now the lights turn on as the should. I did check fuse #35 and it is for instrument cluster and interior lights. It is only labeled as instrument cluster in my owners manual. When I pushed the fuse back in I heard the clicking sound and its coming from behind the guage cluster. So what behind the cluster making the clicking?
Also would like to know what the relays behind the lower dash piece do too?
Thanks again!
The relays that you hear clicking when you insert the fuse are actually inside the instrument cluster. The cluster is just another "smart" module on the truck that controls things like the power to the interior lights and power windows. It sounds like you have a confused cluster. When you lose the interior lights, do you lose power to the power windows as well?
It looks like it is all one unit. According to the schematic the relays are part of a microprocessor. Circuitboardmedics referred to it as one whole module. I will do a search and see if I can find out if it is all one unit or not.
I have gotten so much help from this forum, so I try to help a little where I can. I´m a electrician here in MI so circuits I understand and don´t mind helping with troubleshooting.
I have let this go for over a year without a resolution. So want to bring this one back up.
I still have erratic interior lights, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Any new answers to my issue of what I can replace to make the interior lights work 100%?
, I've read about my 8ssue but all options or potential solutions have been posted many years ago and do not have a validating yes or no they didn't work type response to them.
my issue is that while on the way home one day a great song came on the radio, I was drumming on the steering wheel and then noticed that my interior lights were on,,,,,the brake lights were staying on with truck off
All doors and Jamba have been lubes, slammed and slammed again to no avail.
now the only way to stop this truck from killi g the battery over and over, over night is to pull fuse #14 a 15 amp blue fuse.
and yes the fuse is good.
so what else is out there as a possible solution, because with the fuse out I do not have power windows, not a issue with the summer heat. But I'm afraid this will cause other issues to start forming and or materializing themselves as these darn ford gremlins have Chabot of doing.
any SUGGESTIONS and or insight would be very much appreciated.
Gman
My no interior lights issue comes and goes. The only way I have “fixed” it, is by taking the headlightS OFF of the auto function, so I have to manual turn the headlights ON and OFF but now I have interior lights without any issues.
