OK Guys, I have 2 Diesel trucks. Both are are 7.3L Diesels. One was made 09/96 (Non-Ca engine w/ 260,000+ miles) and the other 04/97 (Ca version w/ 160,000+ miles). I believe the 1997 7.3L has split injectors while the 1996 is single shot injectors. Do they have different sounds? The 1996 has a better low tone sounding engine while the 1997 has a higher sounding engine. Bothe engine have K&N stock replacement filter and exhaust is just down pipe till where the 2 bolts are to take off the rest of the engine. Im worried about the sounding of the 1997 split injector. I don't like the sound.
I frankly don't care about sound lol. I just want to do the best thing I can for the truck. What if I take the nozzles and such from the split and put them into the single shot? How would that do? More hp? Tq? Better mpg?
