So, I'm back with a double head scratcher. The first part is I believe I am among those affected by the cross-filling tank condition. Went to my truck after school and noticed a small puddle of gas and a trickle of fluid coming from the midship filler cap. Seems as though the mid tank is being filled by the aft tank. I know there's a recall about this problem, something to do with replacing check valves, but where do I get the parts?
The other one is bad, too. I have an intermittent stumble/die when the mid pump is selected. Aft pump has never caused this condition, only the mid. I've been told by my go-to tech that the mid pump is drawing more current than the aft pump (7-8 amps). It doesn't always do it but seems to be happening more frequently. Does the pump need to be swapped?
For both issues, no codes, averaging 30-35 psi at the rail when engine is running and ~45 psi static.
The fuel tank selector valve has failed, unfortunately. I believe Ford had a "band aid" fix that involved installing some check valves in the fuel lines, but it didn't really fix the actual problem.

So what is the actual fix for the problem? Are these check valves included in the pump itself for 1991 models?
There is no tank selector valve on a '91 only check valves inside the Fuel Delivery Module inside each tank, and since you have a dodgy pump anyway you may as well replace the whole FDM.

Perfect, that's what I wanted to know. More than likely if I get a new pump from Kragen the latest available design will account for any needed design changes? Can I just ignore the TSB about the external check valves or should they be installed?

What was the final year for the tank selector valve? '90?
