Let's get destructive
Hey guys, sorry I havnt been around much lately new job, new house and now truck problems... So I just picked up a nice 351 Windsor engine and got it in my truck, but I'm trying to get the old ugly distributor out. It's jammed up pretty good and I'm on day 3 of spraying it with pb blaster and wd, torching it, hammering it, etc. and it still won't budge. Any suggestions on the most fun way to get this out while destroying the distributor in the process? I have no plans on reusing it and it's broken already anyway. Yes I removed the distributor hold down bolt lol
You can destroy it all you want, but life's no fun when you break the top off and leave the bottom broken off flush to the block.
Get it out by any means necessary, then overkill it after it is out of the motor (shoot it, melt it, blow it up, throw it into a volcano etc).

What about a chisel angled between the dist and the block itself? I did that on a chevy and gouged the aluminum manifold but hitting it with a hammer like this jarred it as well as causing it to pop up letting it loose.
Ive seen them run with stuck distributors that would not turn nor come out. It really sucks though. I am praying when it comes time to do that to my '56 that my dist comes out without being stuck. Thankfully I can pull the intake off which will be anyways to swap the original 4v one back on but I can have more room at getting to the dist in the back to get it broke loose if it is seized in place.
Ive seen using angled prybars even to get under the dist to pry up on them to get them free.
One trick is if the dist is shot anyways use a chisel and try to get the dist to rotate. Once it spins a bit it will come out then.

Snap-On used to make a slide hammer attachment (#CJ99) for pulling stuck distributors. Used ones turn up on eBay. More details in this thread:

Keep the hoist lifting it up even over night. Also a little heat and keep spraying it when lifting.
Had a buddy that could not remove heads from a 312 powered Tbird used the hoist on the heads and left it that way over night. came in next morning and they were lose.
