Does this have mechanical linkage? It sounds like something is binding up. Why it goes back to normal is strange. Does the clutch engage at the same point everytime?

Crazy Clutch.....

I think I would check the front cone on the tranny where the throw-out bearing rides.Sounds like it could be binding on that.If you still have the old throw-out bearing look at that and see if it looks like it is out of round.Would make sense that it gets worse when its warm because of expansion.Take a look and let us know.Good luck.
