Thanks Sean,
I thought I had posted in the correct section. I goofed, thanks. I will get it right next time.
Uhh, you did post in the right section. Again, I don't think you understand what he was posting. First, Ficmrepair.com sells OEM parts (including carpet) cheaper than the dealers. That is why he posted a link to them. Second, he suggested the heavy duty section because their cab is the same as ours. Therefore you have more opportunities for suggestions or recommendations from those who may have changed out their carpet. HD guys may be more likely to do that because they use up their truck before replacing them.
Good luck with your search. Report back so the rest of us can learn too.
Doesn't surprise me. Carpet and seat covers are best purchased from places other than Ford
True, it's just that with OEM, I knew the color and fit would be correct. With aftermarket it may be slightly off color-wise or not fit completely correct.
And that can be a valid reason. It can depend on the minimum batch size of the unprocessed carpeting. If it's 10,000 vehicles the demand would have to be there to produce that. How often are carpets replaced? And if not that much of a yearly demand, how many dollars does a company want to tie up in product inventory rather then use the assists on other things. Unless there's a good amount of inflation, I don't want a lot of inventory.

So what if the color is off from the original a little bit? The carpet doesn't match the seats perfectly as it is. I am as picky as the next guy, but if you are replacing the entire rug it doesn't really matter. Now, one seat or a part of a seat, that's a different story. I still have a little tear in the seat in my Mustang because I want the replacement fabric to match exactly otherwise I will have to re-cover all of the seats.

I don't know? Maybe because it won't match the back of the cab covering? Behind the rear seat. Whatever that's called. Not even sure it matches now.
I guess with OEM I know what I'm getting and with no experience with the AM, I don't.
Thanks Sean. I will do that as I get closer to actually doing this. When it happens I will be replacing seat covers as well as applying sound deadening. First I need to take care of some mechanical to do's before I can dive into aesthetics.
