Just started I tried rewiring to my instructions on my Ron Francis kit. Pulled the headlight switch to check connections. Dash lights acting weird also.
Years ago I had some weird wiring problems with one of my vehicles and it was the voltage regulator. I'm not saying that's your problem but it would be an item that I would check.
Seeing that you're rewiring the truck, it sounds like you've got something reversed in the headlight switch. You've got power to the lights, but perhaps the battery feed is on the wrong terminal. I would double check the switch wiring.
