New here, I've got a 62 long bed w34k. It's a real survivor but I've got some rust underside. Appears to be a structural box at can/bed area. Look like water has been dripping down from the bed. Is there anyone who has had this issue? Looking to fix but I want it to be correct to retain trucks originality.
Man that is one gorgeous truck!!! It is hard to tell how bad it actually is with all that undercoating still on there. Your first step will be to remove all of that just so you can get a good idea of what you are actually looking at and going to have to fix.
It may look worse then it is or it may be covering up a lot of ugly stuff under there.

Thanks for the kind words on the truck. Yea you are correct-I have decided to get some rust removal first - I'm kinda scared to start poking in it though- may be deeper than expected for sure. I found some details on the torque box and read up . Best repair is to replace the entire lower panel as a solid piece which I think will necessitate a lift or a partial lift. I don't weld so I'll need someone to fabricate a panel and weld it up- hoping it doesn't break the bank
I have one that is probably worse then yours and I need to repair mine as well.
I am a welder and I also have a lift I am just to busy with other project and can not seem to get to it. I am on deployment with the Navy and should be home in a few months and am going to hopefully start the body work and that box has to be completed first.
