Well I work at a body shop. Had our mechanic check it out. He put it on the ac machine and I didn't have any freon in it. So we recharged it. Works great for now. If I have any more problems with it which I'm sure eventually I will I'm gonna take it back for the warranty work
Hope your leak is in a more convenient place to repair than mine was - they had to pull the whole dash to replace the evaporator coil. I could smell the freon on mine when the AC first started up, because it was right there in the dash. Do you smell anything?
Depending on where the leak is located, you could be losing refrigerant lubricating oil along with the freon. If you lose enough, you will destroy the compressor.
Well just a quick update. As I posted I did recharge the ac a week's ago. And as expected it all leaked back out last week. Called ford and took it in this morning. I noticed last week and rattle noise coming from the front. Was pretty sure it was the compressor by the noise it was making. Got a call a few hours later after I dropped it off and confirmed the compressor is done. Good news it's covered under my extended warranty. But they had to order it and a few other things that he manager said had to be replaced. Didn't say what else had to be replaced. So I'm with out of my truck for a few days.
