U code A code?

U code A code?
Hello all,
I just got what I think is a deal.
Some garage kept super duty Springs taken off the truck with 30000 on them and the shocks.
But by the door sticker I now think they are u code fronts and a code rears.
I need to replace my stock excursion Springs. And like the look of everyone's v/b modes.
I have been searching the forums. Can I work with these or do I need to buy more Springs.
Door sticker says 4800 front and 6084 rear.
Thanks

Hey Sherman, I'm on vacation currently and my notes are all at work where I normally post from, but I searched here and found the chart that was put together from several members over time.

The following only applies to 4X4 EXs, the 2X4 rigs have coil springs up front. All EXs came from Ford with G code rear springs, the V-8 EXs all came with B (front B code is much different than rear B code, confused yet?) 4100lb, all V-10 EXs came with C code fronts at 4300lb and all PSD EXs had D codes at 4700lbs.
All the other codes discussed come from SuperDuty trucks (they came with springs that don't suck from Ford.)
Spring........Capacity.....Rate lbs/".....Max travel.....V-10 change.....PSD change
B (V-8)......4100lbs.......330 lb/".........5.02"...........-0.25".............-0.66"
C (V-10)....4300lbs.......350 lb/".........5.01".............0.00"............-0.37"
D (PSD).....4700lbs.......380 lb/".........5.14"...........+0.33".............0 .00"
S codes.....4000lbs.......370 lb/".........4.34"...........+1.22"............+0 .88"
T codes.....4400lbs.......390 lb/".........4.63"...........+1.42"............+1 .11"
U codes.....4800lbs.......410 lb/".........4.89"...........+1.60"............+1 .32"
V codes.....5200lbs.......430 lb/".........5.13"...........+1.77'............+1 .50"
W codes....5600lbs.......450 lb/".........5.34"...........+2.77'............+2 .52"
X codes.....6000lbs.......470 lb/".........5.54"...........+2.90"...........+2. 68"
W codes are from F-450s and X codes are from F-550s and other SD trucks with snow plow prep.
The above spring info has been gathered from posts here on FTE by "monsta" and "bruce1954".
From that we can see that those U codes should raise your front about 1.6", which is about twice the travel they had from the factory to the bumpstops. So if getting away from the frequent bottoming out is you main goal then those should be a nice upgrade. While they are 400lbs lighter than the popular V codes the end result is less than a quarter inch lower than the Vs.
I don't have the rear spring info handy but if they came off the same pickup they should be pretty well matched ride height wise and you always have the option to do the "mod" to them for a little extra rear lift.
On a side note, I have always loved the bumblebee look of your local fire trucks there in Glenn Dale, some of my all time favorite fire rigs. I'm a retired 30 year volunteer who loves non-red fire apparatus.

Thanks for the chart. It helps I feel more comfortable using these weight of Springs now. I don't tow heavy and mostly use the truck for road trips with the family.
I really appreciate the help!
As a side note. I use to work at spartan chassis on the firetrucks.... My dream job. My favorite trucks were the Dale County Florida ones. That yellow/green was so striking. They looked the color of safety vests.
Enjoy your vacation

The next window will allow you to add folders and name them. As an example I have folders like "Suspension" "Saved PMs" "Moderated Stuff" & "Brent Stuff"
If you wanna have saved info at your fingertips no matter where you are, send the info to yourself in a PM. Stuff like links to posts or threads, quoted posts, etc. Send the info to yourself and then move the PM to the appropriate, aforementioned custom folder you've created.
