i have an '05 X that has the typical wander in the suspension. i hear about a V code and a B code spring but no in-depth explanations on what they are or why i want them. i know that i want to clear 35" tires with some room to spare (i dont want to go insane high, but i dont want tire scrub either). will the v/b codes do what i want, or am i better off buying a lift that includes 4 new replacement springs?
thanks,
I am running V code front springs and modified B code rear springs with a 4.5" ICON shackle lift in front and 6" block in the rear sitting on 325/65-18 (35's). With this set-up it easily clears 35's and would clear 37's with some minor trimming.
The stock Ex springs are to soft for the weight of the Ex. The V B springs are from the pickups and carry the load better. A modified B code is mixing the B code springs with some of the Ex spring pack. The B code shims are replaced with the thicker Ex shims and the bottom two leafs from the Ex are put into the B code. When you are done you have a Ex that rides great and can also tow. I am extermely happy with the ride loaded and unloaded. It is not to stiff like most aftermarket lifts.
