MIG will do a good job if you can get good penetration and that all depends
out what kind of output your machine can give you. You may be able to do it
in multi pass if you can't in one pass. The other option is TIG and then you can

The nice thing is you can in some cases match the alloy used in the base material.
But I think a good MIG will do the job for you. Maybe some reinforcement too. You
could add a little beef to the other side if it looks like it needs it.
Any welding shop can MIG that for you. TIG is completely unnecessary and it's dirty as heck any way. Crank up the heat and burn it in. Stronger than new when done.
I'm no pro welder,, but wouldn't stick be best??? I've seen trucks that the customers tried welding it,, about half actually hold. Of course welding is like a stud job,,, the first question is,, who and how did they do it?? Lol
