Take photos of your sending unit if the screens are clogged and or if the black rubber umbrella foot is broken, or if there is a mountain of debris underneath. Those photos, better than a 1,000 words, will help a 1,000 others down line who have lurked for years just like you, and who one day will pipe up with their own problem and resolution, and photos that will carry the torch of this helpful brother and sister hood of FTE onward to help yet another future soul who is Found on the side of the Road DETERMINED.

If you have a way to test fuel pressure, that'd be the place to start. There are screens inside the mixing chamber that can (and do) plug up. Why Ford's engineers decided that inside the tank was a good place for these, I'll never understand.
