What year is your truck? Unless you change the steering column it is unlikely to fit...

Hi vern
Its a 54
The steering wheel fits the column
I'm just trying to work out how all the parts of the horn go together as it was in pieces when I got it

With this type of horn ring, it's a 1952 steering wheel.

Right hand drive????? wow...that 1952 Fairlane steering wheel is quite nice. My column does not have any shift mechanism....my shifter is on the floor so I wonder if that changes anything.... also I have the factory turn signal built into the column if that makes any difference. Do you have power steering on that truck?

Hi

Yes my Truck was built in South Africa so is RHD
I also have the shifter on the floor, probably as it would have been too difficult for Ford to work out the linkages
I found a column off a 56 so added the factory turn signal switch, the wires run down the shifter tube

No power steering

thanks for the reply

Wow on the right hand drive....my wife is South African....I have been there a few times and driven while there....I guess Im ambidextrous I picked up driving on the other side of the road like they do right away. All the vehicles I drove during those visits were manual shift I found it no problem. I only had a brief brain fart or so here and there regarding being correct in my decision making regarding the wrong side of the street thing....Your truck is fab Im going to show her....thanks for answering my questions on the wheel now I know that there is a possibility if I decide to fancy it up some ....any worry about only 2 spokes like on your wheel instead of the three and it being only 2 cracking easier? My truck is loaded and heavy now so steering when it is at a complete stop is not even really possible its so tough. Would the wheel be strong enough not to break?

I have driven LHD Hire cars in the US and Europe, I have also driven LHD American cars in the UK, you get used to it fairly easily

I only have about five hundred miles in this truck, so far the steering wheel has been fine, I guess time will tell

March 1999, rented a Vauxhall from Avis @ Heathrow, drove almost 3,000 miles over the next two weeks in England and Wales.

Had no trouble with RHD, or driving on the "wrong side of the road," but the round-abouts took some getting used to.

Around and around we went, trying to figure out how to get out of these things!

We returned to London in May 2002, and being 'dumb Americans' we were unaware of the Queen's 50th Anniversary until we arrived.

Didn't rent a car this time.
