Internal or External 460

Internal or External 460
I'm looking into purchasing a 460 for my 79 Bronco, C6 auto. I use to have a 78 Bronco with the 460 that the previous owner had installed but cut part of the passenger frame rail for the exhaust manifold to clear. I do NOT want to cut the frame rail for this install. I'm looking at two different engines. 1).. 1975 from Ford LTD with 47091 miles. These are original miles. Plug wires, heater hoses, lower rad hose and emission/vacuum hoses all show April 1975 and no oil leaks anywhere on the block or oil pan/transmission. Fuel door says unleaded with small opening......OR #2).. A 1986 E350 club wagon, 15 passenger van with 91254 miles but not sure if original or rolled. Some oil leak but very little.
So my questions... should I go with the internal balanced or the external balanced engine?
I know I will get better mileage with the 460 over my tired 351m. I'm not looking for hi HP but MAYBE a cam and intake change down the road a couple years. Just want reliable and parts available.
What stock exhaust manifold (s) should I use to fit into my 79 Bronco frame? I know to use 360/390 motor mounts and cut the ear off.
What else?
Thank you for you help and insight. Chris

Either or.
You will have to get an externally balance flexplate if you get the external.
I shouldve gone with an external 460 since i wanted to do a zf5 swap. Little more pain in the rear for the internal 460 to zf5 swap since you have to find someone to zero balance the flywheel. Just keep that in mind if you want to go to zf5. If you want to stay auto it doesnt matter or np435.
External balancers...if they pop off..rarely...but if they do....your engine will be out of balance and will be damaged
The internally balance 460s do have their place. Most were the big hp 460s though the externally balanced one can be built up to the same.
You can use the 351m towers. Just buy 460 swap mounts
Might as well go with headers. I use fenderwell headers on my 79 bronco. Easier to take starter out

Thanks for the input. I think I would rather stay with the factory exhaust manifold. I'm not going for big performance but reliable and ease of install and finding parts. Budget is also a Hugh issue. Headers maybe down the road. I will be getting the fan, brackets, oil pan to carb and fly wheel from whichever vehicle I pull these from. Complete set.
???When getting aftermarket parts, will the internal engine be harder to get parts for OR the same as external engine?
Thanks for the input.
